What is bulk AI extraction?
With bulk AI extraction in Concord, you can extract key terms and metadata across many contracts in one go. Instead of opening each document individually, Concord’s AI can automatically pull out the data you need from many documents at once. You can then run searches and generate reports based on this AI-extracted metadata.
Who can use bulk AI extraction?
You don’t need to be an admin to use this feature — anyone with editing permissions on a document can run bulk extractions. Simply pick your documents, and let the AI take care of the rest. While each batch is limited to 100 documents, if you need to go beyond that, Concord’s Customer Success team can help manage larger extractions on the backend.
Step-by-step: how to run a bulk AI extraction
Getting started is simple. Here’s a quick guide to walk you through the process.
1. Navigate to your Document Inbox
Head over to your Document Inbox where all documents you’ve uploaded, as well as documents shared with you, are listed.
2. Select the documents you need
Choose the documents you want to work with by clicking the checkboxes next to each file. If your list is long, use filters to quickly zero in on specific contracts based on type, date, or other criteria.
3. Start the extraction process
Once you’ve selected your documents, click on “Actions” and choose “Bulk AI Extract” from the dropdown menu. You’ll see a modal window pop up, listing each document that’s set for extraction. Here’s where you can double-check that you’ve included everything you need.
4. Review any access issues
If you come across documents that you can’t extract due to access or permission restrictions, they’ll be highlighted in the modal. This way, there’s no confusion about which documents can be processed and which can’t.
5. Let the extraction run
Now, just click to start. Concord will work in the background, handling the extraction so you can focus on other tasks. There’s no need to keep the window open — the extraction process will run smoothly on its own.
6. Check the results
After a few minutes, the extraction will be complete. You can now filter documents in your inbox by the new metadata or open any individual document to view the updated summary panel.
Tips for smooth bulk AI extraction
- For large batches: Need to extract data from more than 100 documents? Just reach out to your Customer Success Manager, who can help facilitate larger extractions.
- Permissions matter: Only documents you have editing rights to can be included in the bulk extraction, so make sure you have access to each file beforehand.
